What else is out there?

Let's move to the next pair of height insoles on the list,

The insoles above are made of EVA foam, plastic and a thin, and I mean thin layer of memory foam.

Aftter wearing them for a few weeks, here's what I know about these:

Do they provide added height?

Yes, I believe they give you just about 1.3 inches. They also don't compress much with weight absorption, so you really wont lose much height when standing on them

Are they comfortable?

Well, sorta... For a short amount of time you can get away with walking in these, but because the memory foam is so thin, and I mean very thin, you really will start to feel the plastic bottom under the memory foam after about an hour of having these on. Also because there is very little traction at the bottom of these, they will tend to slip around in your shoes, causing your heel to fall back at times, which is very uncomfortable. Also the width of the insole is very thin, so for the guys and girls with wide feet, this insole may not be very suitable for your needs, as it will start to hurt with the lack of support for your whole foot.

Are they expensive?

No, don't fall for companies trying to re-brand these and charge you up to $25.99, you can find them on Aliexpress for very cheap, even on Ebay for about $4.99 - $6.99/pair at most.

Rating:

On a scale of 1-10, these get a solid 5. Why a 5? Well, because they are on the right track towards a good height insole, they are very inexpensive as long as you get them where I mentioned above, and the memory foam (although thin) is a good material to have in an insole, the pros DO NOT out way the cons, but you gotta start somewhere. ; )

Stay tuned everyone, there is plenty more to cover!

Height Insoles, Good or Bad?

Hi readers,

I've had my fair share of height insoles, from simple pieces of foam, to business cards that just sit in my shoes, I've worn it all. It really hasn't mattered what is in there as long as the end result is to gain a few inches in height.

So several years later I decided it's time to come up with my own.. But before I go into that let's talk about what is currently out there...

In no particular order here let's start with what looks appealing.

So these height insoles are made with EVA foam, and an air pocket... That air pocket does not provide the cushioning you are thinking it would as if they were Nike Airs or Reebok Pumps. Nope, these air pockets just look pretty but do not provide any absorbtion. If anything the plastic is extremely strong and acts more as a support factor rather than a shock absorber.

The part i really don't like about these is the detachable layer that is really not firm in place. It is supposed to add a little extra height, but it actually creates a more unstable feeling. Try and imagine stacking things on top of eachother, very weak materials that you are now putting your entire body weight and force on...

All in all on a scale of one to ten I would give these a good 6/10. They aren't worth more than a few bucks so be careful where you buy these, as they make them by the millions.

Stay Tuned!
